Tender description
Public health funding continues to be focused towards vital services that support victims of domestic abuse and children witnessing it. However, outside of the criminal justice process, perpetrators are often referred to a long terms domestic violence perpetrator programme where many are often found to be either unsuitable to commence the programme or are unable to attend due to various issues. An application to the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Service Transformation Fund from Durham County Council was successful to fund the Accountability Intervention project across County Durham and Darlington. The aim of the service is to implement an intervention which aims to tackle non-high risk, high volume perpetrators of intimate partner violence (IPV), identified within the significant volume of calls to the police and referrals to children’s social care.
