Tender description

The publication of this notice is to give advance notice that the Microbiology Department of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust intends to undertake a tendering exercise for the replacement of it's Microbiology Managed Services contract and analysers associated with the provision of these services. The department is requesting information from the marketplace for the provision of a solution to replace key analysers. The publication of this notice also provides information for potential tenderers to register for an upcoming supplier event. We would like to invite parties interested in tendering for the contract to an open day on Wednesday 6.9.2017 at 10:00 am to discuss how the needs of the Microbiology service could be met. This event will be held at North Tyneside Hosptital, Rake Lane, North Shields, NE29 8NH. The Microbiology Department, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust intends to undertake a tendering exercise for the provision of a solution to replace key automation within the department to enable continuity of service as well as the continued development of the service. The solution should ensure the department continues to undertake investigations as outlined in the test repertoire provided in associated documents, specification and the ITT pack as well as the supply of all associated consumables, reagents, installation, implementation, support, maintenance and user training. The department uses media supplied by third party suppliers, it is expected that suppliers will need to incorporate the media as part of their solution. The Trust is looking for the most appropriate and cost effective solution which may be through a Managed Service Contract. Northumbria Healthcare has one centralised Microbiology laboratory based on the North Tyneside site.
