Tender description

The Integrated Public Health Nursing Service will provide leadership, co-ordination and delivery of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme (0-19 HCP) in Sefton. An essential part of the children's services ‘system’, it will make a major contribution to our Children and Young People's Plan ambitions by — Improving health and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people, — Identifying additional needs early, — Building resilience, and — Reducing health inequalities by providing effective universal and targeted interventions for children and their parents. The 0 — 19 HCP will be delivered to residents living in Sefton. All families with a child aged 0 — 5 years and all pregnant women currently resident in the local authority area must be proactively offered the HCP. Extensive review, engagement, consultation and market testing has been undertaken and influenced the specification for this new 0-19 Healthy Child Programme which will not be a like for like replacement of the model for school nursing, health visiting and family nurse practitioners currently delivered by Liverpool Community Health Trust and due to expire on 31.3.2017. The procurement falls in to the light touch regime category of the public contract regulations and Cabinet have authorised for the Director of Public Health to conduct an Open Procedure tender exercise to put the contract in place to run for a period of 3 years, with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years.
