Essex County Council (‘the Council’) is currently developing its service specification for a forthcoming procurement of 24/7 on site support for up to 8 young persons aged between 18 and 25, with low to medium learning difficulties/disabilities and/or mental health needs at a site in central Chelmsford. This is an innovative project which will incorporate multi-disciplinary working across the Housing, Social Care, Education/Employment and Health sectors. It is envisaged that this onsite service will be provide support, guidance and facilitation for up to 8 young people to live their life in their own accommodation. As part of the Council's pre-market engagement for this project, a soft market test exercise has been developed which seeks to establish the potential level of interest from organisations to deliver this service, and to invite feedback on any innovations which could be incorporated into the final specification. Essex County Council (‘the Council’) is currently developing its service specification for a forthcoming procurement of 24/7 on site support for up to 8 young persons aged between 18 and 25, with low to medium learning difficulties/disabilities and/or mental health needs at a site in central Chelmsford. The Council is seeking a provider that will be able to work with colleagues from across several services to facilitate outcome achievement in relation to the following ‘Preparing for Adulthood’ pathways: — Employment, — Independent Living, — Community Inclusion, — Health. It is envisaged that this onsite service will be provide support, guidance and facilitation for up to 8 young people to live their life in their own accommodation. The successful provider will be progressive, able to support the young people to live ordinary lives, reducing their dependency on Council services by building their independence.
