Tender description

Newcastle Laboratory, located at Science Central in Newcastle upon Tyne, is a bespoke design and build commercial multi-let facility, offering approximately 80 000 square feet of high quality laboratory and office spaces to life science and healthcare businesses. Build started in February 2017 and will reach Practical Completion in August 2018. The Council requires a highly qualified and professional operating company or consortium to run the business and the facility on the Council's behalf. The expected outcome is an Operating arrangement with the experience, reach, influence and reputation to create and maintain a thriving life science sector in the City. As well as marketing, letting, branding and providing operational lab and office facility management, the Operator will provide comprehensive sector specific and business operational services and critically, a programme of business acceleration which improves the rate of regional life science company start-ups, growth and subsequent survival Further information will be available in the OJEU. It is anticipated that the OJEU will be issued August / September.
