Over the next 10-20 years London is expected to experience a spike in construction activity to sustain its growth. Many stakeholders agree that this activity could be better coordinated. The Greater London Authority is developing a specification for such coordination, which would be self-funded from efficiencies realised and overseen by a high level infrastructure group that the GLA will convene in the autumn. One option might be a programme management office for London, with local coordination units. The GLA is seeking a collaborative response from all industry participants, supported by experienced project and programme managers. Different options (with associated costs, benefits, risks, advantages and disadvantages) may be included. Proposals should be no longer than 10 pages.... The GLA are issuing a PIN to ask the market to respond with ideas regarding the setting up of a programme management office (PMO) for London, with the potential for local coordination units that could catalyse increased coordination of delivery at both strategic and local levels.
