Tender description

Award — Carmarthenshire County Council has the responsibility for the safe treatment and disposal of the leachate arising from a closed landfill site at Nantycaws, Carmarthen, UK. The leachate from the closed landfill section is highly dilute and so is only slightly contaminated with ammonia. It is being treated with a biological treatment plant prior to discharge to a local river under a discharge consent. The treatment plant consists of a SAF (Submerged Aerated Filter) that is successively treating the leachate to enable discharge to the river. Carmarthenshire County Council is inviting tenders for the operation and maintenance of the plant with suitably qualified and technically competent personnel. The Supervisor must be qualified to degree standard in an appropriate discipline and the Operator must be a qualified electrician for day to day activities/repairs on site. Open Procedure.
