SOG-TA-T-The Storage & Distribution of Kerbside Recycling Bags & Residual Household Waste Bag Stickers

Tender description

In 2014 the States of Guernsey commenced a twin stream comingled recycling collections scheme, whereby cardboard and paper is set out in a clear bag, and plastics, tins and cartons are set out in a blue bag. Rolls of these bags are obtained by householders from approximately 25 local retail outlets. In the summer/autumn of 2018 a “pay as you throw” scheme will be introduced in Guernsey for residual household waste. This will involve householders purchasing stickers in advance to place on each refuse bag they set out. These stickers will be sold from the same retail outlets as those stocking recycling bags. Once these items have been manufactured we will require storage in Guernsey, and distribution to the retail outlets. We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from potential distributors capable of providing distribution services for kerbside recycling bags and residual household waste bag stickers. This questionnaire is part of a soft market testing exercise and provides an opportunity for potential providers to propose how they might approach the delivery of the services in question. To help develop a tender for distribution of these integral elements of Guernsey’s waste strategy, the States of Guernsey would be grateful for written responses to a number of questions set out in this form.
