Tender description
The Trust is running a soft market testing exercise in relation to a possible future public procurement to award a contract for the provision of pathology laboratory services. In terms of the scope of the current services and information for WH Pathology: — Services include Blood Sciences, Microbiology, Cellular Pathology, Point of Care Testing & Direct Access Phlebotomy. — 24/7 service provision, spanning a variety of urgent & routine requests and clinical reporting. — The laboratories are accredited by Clinical Pathology Accreditation and awaiting formal award of UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189:2012. — The laboratory is based on the 5th Floor of K Block at The Whittington Hospital, Magdala Avenue, (off Highgate Hill), London. N19 5NF England, United Kingdom. Service providers who are interested in participating in soft-market testing are invited to register by no later than 17:00 pm on Monday, 21.8.2017 at the following link: https://procontract.due-north.com/register. The Trust is proposing to take its Pathology laboratory services to the commercial market in a future EU procurement exercise to establish whether it can improve upon its current quality of service provision and secure financial savings in terms of a competitive commercial model/supplier's pricing schedules. Other issues to explore include optimum duration of the contract, the likely value of the opportunity to the market and the most appropriate procurement procedure. The soft-market testing process is envisaged to involve ‘no obligation’ site visits, bidder days and questionnaires. The Trust intends to run this soft-market testing for 2 months from 3.8.2017 to 29.9.2017 inclusive. Service providers who are interested in participating in soft-market testing are invited to register by no later than 17:00 pm on Monday, 21.8.2017.
