DFID's Ethiopian Office will be hosting 2 Early Market Engagement Events in relation to this competition opportunity — 1 in Whitehall, London on Friday 25.8.2017 and a second in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Tuesday 29.8.2017. Parties interested in attending either event must pre-register their chosen representative's attendance using the following link no later than 18:00 GMT on Tuesday 15.8.2017: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HYF38MK In order to be able to submit questions in advance, and to access and download the EME Event Presentations and Agenda once these have been made available, parties must also register their organisation and their interest in this opportunity against reference number 8037 on the DFID Supplier Portal using the following link: https://supplierportal.dfid.gov.uk/selfservice/ In late-2017, DFID intends to publish a new competition opportunity where we will be seeking to appoint the Building Resilience in Ethiopia (BRE) Management Agent, with an estimated contract value of up to 34 000 000 GBP (31 000 000 GBP + 3 000 000 GBP). Responsibilities are expected to include (but will not be limited to): a. Supporting the Government of Ethiopia to be better able to lead and deliver an effective, more self-financed and accountable response to climate and humanitarian shocks; b. Managing and delivering monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian response in Ethiopia. This should include the capability to do a randomised control trial (RCT) and if necessary to manage the funding behind the RCT. c. Assessing funding modalities for VFM and conducting a fiduciary risk assessment to assess the measures required to be taken in order for DFID to directly fund the Government of Ethiopia to deliver humanitarian outcomes.
