Tender description
SNBTS requires to attain supplies of Red Cell Reagents compatible with automated technology and is for the anti body detection and identification only and not equipment or accessory devices. Antibody detection and ID, ABO/Rh typing and phenotyping is performed in SNBTS on samples taken from patients and donors. Initial testing on Donors for Anti body detection and ID and ABO/Rh typing is by large scale automated blood grouping systems; currently Olympus PK7300 and Phenotyping of Donors is performed manually and on automated systems. Testing of patient samples is performed at sites located at 6 sites in Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Inverness, and Aberdeen). Testing of samples referred from hospitals and internal laboratories is performed both manually and on automated systems. A selected number of donor and patient samples are also tested by manual technique and currently BioRad IH-1000. Donation Testing activities are due to be consolidated at the Jack Copland Centre, Heriot Watt campus in Edinburgh in 2017/18. Testing of samples referred from hospitals and internal laboratories is performed both manually and on automated systems.
