Services for maintained schools only — HR Recruitment and Conditions of Services, School Management Support and Governor Services. The London Borough of Newham's Children and Young People's Service (CYPS) will shortly be recommissioning its statutory school support services to maintained schools and would like to hear from providers with experience in delivering the following services: HR Recruitment and Conditions of Service Issue contracts, check teacher status, DBS checking, guidance on staff conditions of service (job evaluations), NQT approving body duties. School Management Support Provide health and safety training, advice to schools on responsibilities for undertaking risk assessments, guidance for educational visits, banning of troublemakers and maintaining cautionary database. Governor Support Services Appointment of Local Authority governors, making instruments of government, governor training programme, organising governors' forums. In Newham, nearly 50 % of schools are now academies with an increasing number in the process or considering in the next 12 months. CYPS is keen to engage early with providers in the education sector with demonstrable experience of delivering school support services. We are also keen to engage with providers on initiative delivery models which support the LA as it tapers off its school support services contract as the responsibility shifts to academies to purchase their own support.
