Pouches for Serum Eye Drops

Details

Published
29 July 2017

Tender description

The National Health Service Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) provides a serum eyedrop service for patients suffering from severe ocular surface disease. Serum is processed from whole blood donations collected from patients or volunteer donors into ‘dry’ collection packs. The serum is separated and diluted with saline within the closed collection bag system. It must then be dispensed into individual containers before being issued to patients for home use. This tender details the requirements for a closed dispensing system for serum eyedrops that is compatible with sterile connection to the collection bag system, for the purpose of informing a formal tender.
