Tender description
UK Shared Business Services Ltd on behalf of the Contracting Authority is putting in place a Contract for the purchase of a Mask Aligner. This opportunity is for the supply of a mask aligner to support current and short-medium term work plans. Additional options for field upgrade to meet potential future developments will be regarded favourably. We have established processes on an existing mask aligner (a Karl Suss MA6) but require to open avenues for using those and new processes on larger wafers (8”/200mm diameter). The new mask aligner & exposure system will be used for small volume production runs using established processes and also for new process development. The complete system must be delivered and commissioned in the user’s facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laborartory before the end of February 2018, with user acceptance complete before the end of March 2018. See Section I.3 for access to procurement documentation. Processes may be developed and used on a range of wafer sizes, from individual die (e.g. 10x10mm, 20x20mm, 20x70mm) through various wafer sizes (2”, 3”, 4”, 6”, 8”).Wafer materials handled include silicon, cadmium telluride, cadmium zinc telluride. Existing processes must be fully portable between the existing MA6 and the new mask aligner. This requires the cross calibration of exposure systems and supply of suitable tooling and/or tooling adapters. The new system must be suitable for occasional operators as well as every-day users. Whilst users will be trained, all aspects of usage must be sufficiently intuitive as to avoid errors. The complete system must be delivered and commissioned in the user’s facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laborartory before the end of February 2018, with user acceptance complete before the end of March 2018. All submissions will be assessed in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, for procurement values that exceed Regulation 5 (Threshold amounts).
