Grove Park Streetscape Improvement Scheme - Baring Road and Downham Way

The London Borough of Lewisham is seeking a contractor to carry out a streetscape improvement scheme in Grove Park (Baring road & Downham Way). The Council intends to develop a high quality Public Realm Streetscape to regenerate the local shopping parade, whilst targeting accidents, casualties and reduction of speeds to improve safety. The service will include, but is not limited to: • Replacement of footway and carriageway materials, crossings, signage and street marking in accordance with designs and drawings provided in the tender pack. • Replacing the existing surface water drainage to the street and any associated works to sewer connections required. • Installation of street furniture and trees • Some alteration/ changes to the lighting for the street. Lewisham are currently engaged in a Lighting Contract with their term contractor: Skanska. Lighting will have been recently installed to the street (before this contract commences) by Skanska to correspond as closely to the new design proposals as possible, however there will still be some requirements for relocations or adjustment's to the installed scheme. • New PCAT signal system with associated draw pits and ducting and cabling works. • Installation of new signs and inset bay marking. • Re-configuration of the existing junction (Baring Road j/w Downham Way option 2) or the implementation of a raised junction table as shown in Option 1. • Working up to boundaries and around forecourts, cellars and voids to shops and businesses in the street.
