Wolverhampton has been named one of the UK's Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) Taxi Scheme Cities, receiving 478 000 GBP funding from the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). The primary objective of the ULEV Taxi Scheme is to promote the uptake of ULEVs in the taxi industry with the aim of improving air quality. As part of the delivery programme, OLEV has agreed that CWC can also make the infrastructure available to the public. This is a market warming exercise and full details are available on: www.wolverhamptontenders.com The project is to create an infrastructure at key strategic locations around central Wolverhampton: — 20 rapid chargers; — 4 fast chargers. These are indicative numbers and types which should be used as a guide when considering the scale of the charging network required. Details of the sites proposed will be made available at a later stage. CWC is seeking a supplier that can deliver a publicly accessible network on a concession basis. The supplier will be responsible for building, marketing and operating the network, as well as providing an on-going 24/7 service (including the management of payments and support), maintenance and repair to ensure the network is fully operational at all times.
