A Better Start Southend - Community Insight - Improving Health 0-3

A Better Start is a Big Lottery funded opportunity to improve the life chances and outcomes for children 0-3 in Southend with a focus on preventative intervention. A Better Start Southend is a partnership between the Pre-School Learning Alliance, Southend Borough Council, health authorities, police, families, community groups, commercial sector and the voluntary sector, which aims to give the most vulnerable children the best start in life. Working together with parents and local communities we aim to develop long term success through evidence based programmes. We are looking for a provider to develop a summary report in relation to improving the health of babies and children for the 0-3 population of Southend-On-Sea and their families with: - Insights into the support required by mothers (according to age) to increase the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding - Insights into how families can have a healthier diet and rely less on ready meals, takeaways and fast food outlets - Insights into how businesses can be supportive of women being able to return to work and continue to breastfeed - a robust delivery plan and proposals for evaluation - baseline data and a set of system wide indicators This contract will be in place for 9 weeks from July-August 2017 with a value of between £0 to £25,000. The contract will be with Pre-school Learning Alliance in close partnership with major partner Southend Borough Council.
