The Bridge will be a beacon of mental health in Harrow, a self-sustaining community hub that promotes recovery, rehabilitation and independence to people with mental health difficulties. It will support a diverse range of people to achieve their individual goals and outcomes through a variety of means tailored to each individual client. The Service should be more than a traditional day centre, but one that operates in an innovative and resourceful way and encourages its users to be innovative and resourceful in their recovery. The centre should work on people’s strengths and abilities and help them to regain lost skills, to discover new skills and build on existing ones in a way which; prevents, reduces and delays mental health difficulties becoming more serious. The service should be responsive to the changing needs of the clients and the expectations of their referring bodies/ organisations. It will be a focal point of the mental health landscape in Harrow and the surrounding Boroughs, providing a centre of excellence for preventative, recovery focused and inclusive community mental health support to a diverse range of people.
