Summary of the work Provide specialist IT skills within a System Design Authority for Information Systems and Networks (ISN) Delivery Team. The ISN remit is to deliver an exciting new IT capability based on Evergreen and Agile principles. Design and deliver specific services and technologies within a dynamic and specialist team. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 3-6 months Latest start date 20/2/2017, although all applicants will be considered. Maximum Day Rate £800 per day Who Speclialist Work With Working closely as part of the System Design Authority, alongside architects, system designers and business analysts. The specialist will also need to work with the Service Transition and Service operations team, and have engagement with procurement and project management functions. What Specialists Work On Providing support to the System Design Authority; assisting service transition, continuous service improvement and change initiatives. Specific role responsibilities include Change Management: manage and evaluate change, maintain configuration control. Release and deployment management: manage system release and deployment events and record outcomes. Knowledge Management: Support capture, development and use of knowledgebase articles. Service Catalogue Management: Support other technical specialists in SCM. Service Level management: Contribute to and report on service levels for services and technologies alongside wider support team. Capacity Management: Monitor and forecast capacity demand Information Security Management: Work within and maintain appropriate security configuration. Skills & Experience • Significant Experience with Design, Maintenance and Operation of MS SQL Server • Experience working with Active Directory • Experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 • Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 Nice to Haves • Experience with Windows Client & Server Lockdown, Security & Security Enhancements • Experience with Windows Server Update Services • Experience with App-V • Experience with Certificate Services • Experience with Linux Redhat • Experience with Sharepoint 2013/2016 Work Location Bristol, South West and Hereford, West Midlands Working Arrangments 5 days a week between 0830 - 1730. Fridays will be no earlier than 4pm finish. Regular work with technical specialists in support team, face to face meetings and workshops. Occasional meetings in other customer locations, travelling within the working day where possible. Security Clearance The candidate must hold Current/Valid DV Clearance. **IMPORTANT** Candidates clearance details shown below must be submitted PRIOR to the deadline of this requirement in order to be considered. Valid from & Expiry Date and DV Clearance Reference details are required. Additional T&Cs The Supplier undertakes to abide by the provisions of the Official Secrets Act 1911 to 1989 and Section 182 of the Finance Act 1989. In the event that the Supplier fails to comply with this Condition, the Buyer reserves the right to terminate this contract by giving notice in writing to the supplier. The Supplier will comply with DEFCON 659A along with the appropriate Security Aspects Letter. DEFCON 659A will be provided to applicants on request. The SAL will be provided to the successful Supplier. Please submit all evidence to DESSPISN-Comrcl-1B@mod.uk as a PDF or Word Doc before 23:59 Wednesday 25th January. 5. Could you sponsor our specialist for SC for this role? This role requires evidence of DV clearance to be submitted concurrently with the application prior to 23:59 on Wednesday 25th January. 6. What percentage of the role is working around designing a new solution compared to developing and fixing bugs in an existing one? There will be almost no designing of new solutions, the role will almost entirely be developing, fixing bugs and remediation in an existing solution. 7. Would it be possible to sponsor our specialist for DV clearance during the application process? No, applicants are required to supply evidence of current DV clearance as part of their application. We will not fund clearance for individuals not being offered contracts. 8.
