IE require a supplier with a proven track record in the supply and delivery of synthetic-timber longitudinal waybeams with continuous fibre reinforcement in the longitudinal direction. The proposed product must be currently in use for the required application, preferably in at least 1 major European railway undertaking — please provide details. The dimensional requirements are as follows: 48 No 7 m lengths of 165 mm depth and 325 mm width. (Tolerance +/-5 mm). Please provide proof of compliance with the following minimum physical property requirements: Density of 740 kg/m3; Bending resistance 8.0 kN/cm2; Bending modulus 710 kN/cm2; Shear resistance 1.0 kN/cm2; Hardness 1.7 kN/cm2. Impact bending resistance of 8.0 J/cm2 at temperature -20°C and 20.0 J/cm2 at temperature +20°C. The proposed synthetic timber product must have a design life of at least 40 years. Pre -Qualification Questionnaire Attached to this Notice must be completed and returned.
