The Foundation takes the issues of an adequate workforce supply to ensure high quality teachers in the Further Education (FE) and training sector for the future seriously. Underpinning this, is making sure that graduates are aware of and attracted to jobs within the sector, thereby bringing the latest thinking to the workshop and classroom. Encouraging final year students into an arena they may not know of, but which offers a mix of challenges and rewards will increase awareness and expand the pool of potential trainees. Through this tender, the Foundation is seeking to encourage final year undergraduates to consider a career in teaching in the FE and training sector. One approach to this is to get final year students to spend some time in colleges or ITPs, helping with the delivery. The Foundation is seeking a partner to arrange this by means of offering financial incentives to the students and operational funding to the colleges/ITPs. As the partner might be working at a local level, we may consider awarding more than one contract (if required) to ensure a degree of regional coverage.
