Chelmsford City Council is undertaking a soft market testing exercise to gauge the level of interest in this exciting opportunity for 2 unique catering opportunities in thriving and popular locations. Chelmsford City Council is looking to gauge the level of interest in one or both of the opportunities available to run the catering outlets at the Hylands Estate Stables Visitor Centre and Chelmsford Museum at Oaklands Park. As England's newest city, Chelmsford City Council has invested heavily in these two prestigious venues and is keen to work alongside a catering partner or partners to deliver a distinctive and enticing offering at both of these locations. The Hylands Estate regularly attracts over 1 500 000 visitors per year and is home to both the Grade II* Listed Hylands House and an extensive events portfolio ranging from Artisan Markets to V Festival. The current café has been operating for almost a decade and has in that time amassed a significant and loyal customer base, making this is an excellent opportunity to express an interest in an already successful and well-established business. The second catering opportunity available is at the Chelmsford Museum at Oaklands Park and House, a well-loved visitor attraction at the heart of the local community. Located just a 15 minute walk from the City Centre and home to Chelmsford Museum, Oaklands is preparing for a major redevelopment to the Grade II listed Victorian House to improve the museum galleries and create a new catering operation. The Council is looking for a catering partner who can work with us from an early stage, advising on the kitchen fit-out and working with the museum to create an innovative offering that will cater for a newly invigorated visitor attraction.
