Summary of the work Data science/visualisation Design solutions defining dataquality issues & embed solutions, testing solutions & outputs Considering business objectives align data to new business OM, creating innovative applicable solutions, embed data into normal running. Migration of data warehouse using WhereScape, application of metadata, develop data governance tools advise on Hadoop Ecosystem theory. Expected Contract Length Initial term to 31 March 2018, option to extended by a period or periods up to 18 months. Latest start date Friday 15 September 2017 Budget Range The maximum day rate TPR will accept is £325 plus vat. The day rate is including all expenses, TPR will not pay expenses for working at the base location. The base location being Napier House, Brighton. Why the Work is Being Done TPR are seeking a Data Specialist that is required to work on the organisational transformation programme as TPR moves from a system based data approach to a data warehouse solution, to support new data driven business objectives. The specialist will address issues of data quality, incorporating data in business as usual solution, automation of business practices to enhance efficiency, Data science and data visualisation. Problem to Be Solved Internal issues regarding data quality. Incorporating data in to business as usual solution Atomisation of business practices to enhance efficiency. Data management , migration of date between systems Who Are the Users The users are the internal business users that need to be able to have access to integrated data so they can be assured of the efficiency and performance of the operation, to use data to drive business decisions and advise senior stakeholders on strategic interventions. Existing Team The supplier will be required to work with the Regulators' Data team and Technology and Change Services (IT) teams. Who work together with wider business areas regards data requirements. The data team has six members of staff including the Head of Data. The Supplier may be required to work with other internal teams as directed. Current Phase Discovery Skills & Experience • Ability to design solutions to defined data quality issues • Embed solutions into systems, testing solutions and data outputs • Align data to new business operational models, creating innovative and applicable solutions to embed data into the data to day running of the business • Migration of data from systems into data warehouse using WhereScape, the application of metadata, development of data governance tools. • • Provide training • • General data management as systems require and advise on Hadoop Ecosystem theory • • Experience of Birst • • Programming on SQL • • Data management capability ETL, cleansing, data munging, data wrangling • • Python • • Data Modelling • • Used WhereScape Nice to Haves • Experience of dashboard design • data validation using Birst or similar tools. Work Location The Pensions Regulator Napier House Trafalgar Place Brighton BN1 4DW Working Arrangments Our normal office hours are Monday to Friday as directed and based in Brighton. Specialists will be required on site five days a week. Flexible working is an option and will be agreed subject to business need. Specialist is required to participate in meetings as required, both internally and externally, and locations other then the base location, as directed. Additional T&Cs TPR Data must only be stored and accessed from TPR issued devises. No TPR data must leave the EEA. TPR reserves the right to request the removal and or replacement of any Suppliers specialist allocated to the contract, without cause or reason and at no additional cost to TPR. The Supplier staff will be required to sign and follow the Regulators code of conduct.
