Provision of Specialist Fire Safety Consultancy Services

Tender description

As part of the DCLG response to the Grenfell Tower Fire, a specialist fire safety consultant has been appointed to enable the Department to respond effectively to correspondence, initial findings and possible options for changes to regulations and standards going forward. The science of fire safety is a highly complex and specialist subject and the Department needs quick access to a Consultant who can understand and explain to ministers the implications of the evolving situation on the ground at Grenfell tower and initial findings when they become available, as well as the potential impact of any proposed response. This requires the Consultant to have an in-depth knowledge of fire safety, construction technology and the practicalities of the industry.
