Provision of a Residual Municipal Waste Treatment and Disposal Service

Tender description

North Lincolnshire Council is inviting tenders to establish a contract for the provision of Residual Municipal Waste Treatment and Disposal Services. The Council currently produces around 45 000 tonnes per annum of residual municipal waste. The Council will provide exclusivity of its residual municipal waste without providing a guaranteed minimum tonnage. Any solution will be required to collect the residual municipal waste from a Council provided waste transfer station and to treat and dispose of the waste with an unlimited upper quantity (based on current Council waste management practices). The estimated total value of the contract for North Lincolnshire Council expenditure is 25 000 000 GBP. The council is currently working on a strategy option to explore further use of it's facilities and as such reserves the right to invite potential partners in the wider Lincolnshire/Yorkshire region to participate in this contract. The council is about to undertake a feasibility study on a potential Energy From Waste (EFW) facility with a view to exploring future opportunities for waste treatment, therefore the term of this contract is aligned to allow for future EFW solutions, please note the feasibility study has no impact on this contract.
