Tender description

To provide audio-visual and software for digital interactive exhibits for the four new Endeavour Galleries. The services shall cover design, production, testing, delivery, installation, on-site testing, commissioning, debugging, delivery of source codes, and master files. The four galleries make extensive use of touchscreen interactives to complement the rich content presented by the museum, providing new and engaging supporting information through attractively designed animations, illustrations and games. The total number of audio-visual and digital interactive exhibits within this Lot is 8. An interactive game combined with video interviews in the Polar gallery will explore contemporary stories about these regions, touching on pressing contemporary themes like climate change. Digital interpretation, participatory and quiz interactives provide new and refreshing ‘ways in’ to content in the Sea Things gallery. The total number of audio-visual and digital interactive exhibits within this Lot is 5. This lot combines two different media types and techniques, including a Pepper's Ghost and interactive projections mapped onto props in the Tudor and Stuart gallery. In this instance the use of media is integrated with the physical set and replica objects, meaning that these digital tools will be combined with tactile user experiences. These installations will juxtapose physical props and objects with specially-designed digital projections, soundscapes and 3D models to create a theatrical experience that appeals to all the senses. The high quality of illustrations and graphics will make these installations ‘magic moments’ during the gallery experience. The total number of audio-visual and digital interactive exhibits within this Lot is 2. All four galleries make use of projections and animations at key moments, to help build atmosphere and a sense of place and break down the barriers between the museum and the natural environments. Examples of projections might include the wave in the Pacific Gallery, snowscapes in the Polar Gallery and the seashore in the Sea Things Gallery. The total number of audio-visual and digital interactive exhibits within this Lot is 5. The galleries all include interviews with a variety of people, including scientists, explorers, Inuit storytellers etc., which are in some cases connected or combined with projections, adding different voices and perspectives to the visitor experience. The total number of audio-visual exhibits within this Lot is 4. The visitor experience will be enriched by a number of digital media installations that will be used to add variety and an element of surprise to the visit. This package includes editing and presenting video sequences, audio interviews and video-based exhibits triggered through push buttons or touchscreens. The total number of audio-visual exhibits within this Lot is 6.
