The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has a requirement for the provision of occupationally focused high quality care to Service personnel and eligible civilians that require an in-patient assessment, or a period of stabilisation and treatment ( in some cases (< 10 per annum) under 18's). Within the contract there may be occasions where the Authority will request out-patient services. The in-patient and when required out-patient provision will complement the existing Military Departments of Community Mental Health. It is essential that partnership working between the Provider and the Service Authorities is rapidly established. Patients will require to be assessed and admitted within specified timeframes to a location that is as close as possible to the patient's unit or home, if clinically, or, if applicable, to a location specialising in the management of particular mental health problems. Patients referred for admission may require: sanctuary due to mental health problems, or, in-patient assessment of mental health, or, detoxification from alcohol or illicit drugs. Where requests are made for out-patient assessment/treatment this will be for assessment or specific work in the form of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The contractor should demonstrate a high level of commitment towards evidence-based practice, quality improvement and achieving clinical excellence. The MOD would be particularly interested in hearing from parties who are able to demonstrate evidence based innovative approaches for specialist services for disorders related to Alcohol Misuse, Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders. The General scope of the requirement is limited to assessment and basic treatment to achieve mental state stabilisation (or detoxification) as appropriate for in-patient care. For out-patient provision this will be in the form of 12 session blocks of a specific intervention. Main Place of Performance: Nationwide within the United Kingdom Consideration will be given to placing a single contract for the entire requirement on a national basis The MOD does not bind itself to place any contract as a result of the competition.
