External Decision Making and Implementation Mapping of Marine Plans

Tender description

The Marine Management Organisation (the MMO) is seeking to procure contractors to deliver the project “External decision making and implementation mapping”. This project, funded by European Marine and Fisheries Fund monies, is set to run from September 2017 until the end April 2018. Between 2016 and 2020, the MMO will be developing marine plans for the South West, South East, North West, and North East of England’s marine area. During the marine plan development process stakeholders put forward issues that they would like addressing (identifying the change they want to see). As identified through marine planning in other areas to date, generally these issues manifest themselves as challenges parties face in: * Making use of marine spaces (e.g. where there are overlapping demands such as between fishing activities and cables). *Opportunities for optimising use (e.g. achieving offshore wind and conservation objectives in the same area). *Ideas for new types of future development (e.g. emerging tidal energy technologies).
