Tender description
Who Speclialist Work With A multi-disciplinary agile team including user researcher, front-end developer, back-end developer, content designer, web ops, tech arch, delivery manager, product manager and service manager. What Specialists Work On The designer will be required to work with the current feature teams and business to help ensure we are delivering a quality user experience from our service. The specialist will lead on the best practices for user experience and work alongside our user researchers on new products. The Data Quality capability is a service that provides reporting and analytics on Advance Passenger Information and other Aviation based data sets to Border Force. Where the Work Takes Place Main location for the work will be at Bedfont Lakes Business Park for 4-5 days, with occasional other locations being central London and Croydon. Remote working may be available where necessary. Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements The supplier is expected supply a resource working within a feature team made of up of the specialist skills required to deliver the outcomes. We expect the supplier to be flexible to our needs and can make working with a mixed team across multiple sites effective. Off site and remote working can be accommodated, however due to security considerations this would need to be discussed. Travel to regional sites to be agreed, expenses incurred from travel outside of the M25/Greater London will be subject to Home Office Travel and Subsistence Policy. Remote working may be available where necessary. Security Clearance All staff must be SC cleared. We will ask bidders for details of key personnel, if successful the bidder will be asked for confirmation of security clearance or we will initiate clearance process Additional T&Cs The initial term of the agreement will be for 12 Months with an option to extend for a period up to a maximum of a further 6 months. CV will be requested after short-listing responses. Skills & Experience 5+ years experience as a practicing designer – 8% In-depth understanding of user-centred design principles and tools – 8% A deep understanding and experience of visual design, interaction design, content design, and service design. – 8% Confident sketching and prototype on paper and in other design tools – 5% Confident writing user-centric interfaces – 5% Proven capability to Lead a workshop – 4% Know how the internet works: confident in understanding the capabilities of independent web applications in delivering a cohesive service – 4% Worked extensively with user researcher and know how to interpret user research into actions – 4% Excellent written and verbal communication – 3% Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - 3% Demonstrable 5+ years experience working effectively with cross-disciplinary teams (with Research, Design, Software, Content and Product team members) – 3% Demonstrable 5+ years experience ensuring that appropriate user research and strategic level design thinking is intrinsic to making design decisions– 3% Demonstrable 5+ years experience planning and building digital products– 3% Proven experience of stakeholder management, with strong negotiation skills at very senior levels– 2% Experience leading (defining scope, approach and carrying out delivery of) end to end service transformation work, using user-centred, agile approaches– 2% Nice to Haves Airline domain knowledge Previous experience of leading mixed teams of designers and researchers Strong understanding of the Government Digital Service’s Design Principles and Digital Service Standard.
