Tender description

Currently, a variety of vehicle types are employed via different commercial arrangements to deliver Explosive Ordnance Disposal & Search (EOD&S) capability across the spectrum of all Military Aid to the Civil Authorities (MACA) capabilities. Project GASKET will deliver this broad range of vehicles as a coherent capability. Provision, repair, maintenance and associated services of converted cars, vans and off-road vehicles is required. Vehicle conversion will be required to meet the specific System Requirements, primarily design and integration of vehicle racking to transport and best deliver equipment and personnel. The Authority's preferred route to market is via Crown Commercial Services' RM3814 DPS. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is an enabler inform the market of a potential opportunity and to allow the authority to develop options for the delivery of GASKET Project 1. Section II.2.4 contains information on how suppliers should respond to this PIN. The current fleet suffers from a lack of reserve vehicles, differences in vehicle configuration and lack of conformity in commercial arrangements, both locally and geographically. GASKET Project 1 will deliver standard, soft skin vehicles, namely Light Vehicles (cars, ≈50), Medium Vehicles (vans, ≈80) and Light Off-Road Vehicles (≈30). These will be relatively low complexity vehicles for transport of personnel and discrete equipment. There are multiple users, each with specific load requirements. The vehicles will be fitted for but not with (FFBNW) equipment and personnel, in accordance with the load lists. The integration required will primarily be the design and fitting of racking to carry the loads and ensuring that the vehicle meets the System Requirement specification.
