UNICEF Baby Friendly Community (Health Visiting and Children’s Services) Commitment of Intention & Stage 1 Service

Tender description

The London Borough of Hounslow is seeking to procure a specialist to ensure that it achieves the UNICEF Commitment of Intent and Stage 1 UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation by the end of March 2018. The Stage 1 UNICEF Baby Friendly assessment procedure is designed to ensure that the necessary policies, guidelines and processes are in place to allow health-care providers to implement the “Baby Friendly standards” effectively. By the end of March 2018, we aim to have achieved the UNICEF Baby Friendly Community Commitment of Intention and Stage 1 status. This work will complement and have pathways to the already high level of support given to new parents at birth through the West Middlesex University Hospital, which was the first ‘Baby Friendly’ hospital in London and has continued to maintain this status. This work is being overseen by (and all outputs will be presented to) a new ‘Start4Life’ Working Group in Hounslow, which brings together the key community services.
