SOG-T-TA-Provision of Kerbside Recycling Bags & Food Waste Caddy Liners

Tender description

The States of Guernsey is in the process of procuring infrastructure, products and services for the implementation of Guernsey’s waste strategy, as approved in 2012. One element of this strategy is kerbside recycling, and in 2014 the States of Guernsey commenced a twin stream comingled collections scheme, whereby cardboard and paper is set out in a clear bag, and plastics, tins and cartons are set out in a blue bag. Following the States of Guernsey debate in February 2017 on the implementation of the waste strategy, (Ref. Billet d’Etat V 2017), the States Trading Supervisor Board (‘the States’) is introducing a ‘pay-as-you-throw’ charging mechanism to incentivise recycling, and is extending the materials collected at the kerbside to include glass and food waste. This tender relates only to the manufacture of blue and clear kerbside recycling bags and liners for food waste caddies; tenders dealing with the other elements of the kerbside recycling scheme will be issued separately.
