UK NEQAS is a national organisation of external quality assessment (EQA) programmes providing quality assessment in both primary and secondary care to centres performing pathology tests. UK NEQAS for Blood Coagulation specialises in tests of Haemostasis (blood clotting). We provide EQA for over 1 000 hospital-based laboratories (UK and international) performing diagnostic tests for disorders of blood clotting, and over 4 500 centres performing point of care testing, such as warfarin monitoring in General Practitioners' surgeries. The current data management system is used to manage contact details of: 5 500 participating centres, and to store, analyse and report data from these centres. The system was first used in 2001, and has been extensively developed and upgraded over the past 15 years. The system now requires replacement to ensure compatibility with the current state of the art software options. Tenders will be invited for a new data management system to be programmed to.
