Tender description

The work to be provided under the Framework Agreement (FWA) will be a wide range of mechanical work in generating stations and will include routine repair and general mechanical work both on a routine basis and during plant overhauls and shutdowns. It will involve ‘running maintenance’ as well as defined project work. See Full description of the work in Section 11.2.4 of this notice. The work to be provided under the Framework Agreement (FWA) will be a wide range of mechanical work in generating stations and will include routine repair and general mechanical work both on a routine basis and during plant overhauls and shutdowns. It will involve ‘running maintenance’ as well as defined project work. Examples of work required include:- — Mechanical installation of Pumps, Motors, Compressors, Valves, Pipework. — Pipeline Repairs, Duct Repairs. — Stripping, Overhauling and Re-assembly of Valves. — Pump and Motor Alignment using Laser Aligning Equipment. — Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Conveyor Systems, Air, Water, Steam Systems. — Repair and maintenance of sootblowers, mills, feeders, pumps, Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO)and diesel plant, ash, lime and FGD (flue gas desulphurisation) product transfer systems, heat exchangers, tanks, firefighting pumps and deluge systems, compressors, blowers and fans, coal conveyors, ship-unloaders, stacker-reclaimers, structural steel — Welding of High Pressure pipe work. The range of materials to be welded include, but are not limited to, the following steel types or their equivalents: SA106-B, SA210-A1, SA213-T2, SA213-T11, SA213-T22, 15Mo3, 13CrMo44, 10CrMo910, T/P23, T/P24, 9-12%Cr martensitic stainless steels including X20, T/P91, T/P92 and austenitic stainless steels. The Contractor will be required to supply all weld procedures. This list is not complete and is only given as an example of the type of work we are looking to contract as part of this FWA. Note that in some cases, particularly for running maintenance, there may not be drawings available and contract staff must have the ability to carry out repairs on their own initiative. Many of the locations are in confined spaces with limited access. Specialist / OEM work is not included in this FWA and will be tendered for separately. ESB reserves the right to award mechanical work outside of the Framework if it decides that it is in the best interest of ESB to do so..
