Tender description

The Services and Works being procured are Specialist Design, Supply and Supervision of Installation of Rides and Water Features for the development of a new 23 000 000 GBP Leisure Facility in Eastbourne. The new facility will be located adjacent to the existing Sovereign Centre in a seafront location adjacent to a Conservation Area. There are four Lots available for Vendors to tender for; Lot 1 2 water slides, Lot 2 a ride tower, Lot 3 aquatic water play features and Lot 4 children water slides. For full details please see the attached Invitation to Tender(ITT). This is an Open procedure for a Supply and Installation Contract. The two flume rides will be body rides that It is envisaged that one ride will be suitable for one person or for two people to ride together (the second person being a child with a parent or guardian). The second ride will be more of a speed slide for single person use. The rides will start at a given level on the ride tower as determined by the Ride Vendor, and terminate in a runout in an area as generally indicated on the drawings included at Appendix B. A ride tower will be constructed with a launch platform at approx. 7 500 000 (note: a revit model and sections are to be issued to tendering parties). The tower platform will be screeded/finished depending upon Ride Vendors requirements, servicing and connection details. As selection of indicative kids play features are shown on the attached tender drawing. The shallow water area is intended for younger children up to the age of 6 years of age, and the vendor is invited to propose a selection of features suitable for the space and water area shown, and in keeping with the client budget. Deisgn and supply a 2-lane gang slide mounted on a raised platform (supplied by others to vendors requirements) as shown on the tender drawing and positioned in the back corner of the area.
