Tender description

Scottish Borders Council (the Council) is seeking suitable accommodation to enable 2 individual's to live independently within the community. The main area the council are seeking notes of interest from, are providers who think they would be able to provide the type of accommodation detailed for either 1 or both the individuals identified below within the Borders. The council will work with providers who have the ability to help identify different options that are available. The Council are seeking interest from Housing providers and/or Service Providers who can access accommodation to enable this to turn into a reality for either individual or both. Both the above individuals will require a support service, the council are interested in providers who would be able to source the accommodation. A brief outline of the accommodation requirements for the individual is: Individual 1 is a 21 year old young man who has a learning disability and severe autism. He requires a robustly constructed building on 1 level, which is fairly large with lots of outside space. The accommodation would need to include capacity for a sleepover provision. If the property was spacious enough then there is potential he could share. There is no specific area of preference. A brief outline of the accommodation requirements for the individual is: Individual 2 is a 53 year old woman who has a mild learning disability and autism. She is fairly independent but has particular difficulty getting on with neighbours. We would be seeking a one bedroom property, detached bungalow with its own space for bins, washing line etc. Ideally the property would not be overlooked or overlooking others. The preference is that it would be in Jedburgh, Kelso or Galashiels.
