Tender description

Dudley MBC invites tenders for a Managed Stores Solution and Supply of Building Materials. The work will include the following: Source, supply and delivery of all specified Building Materials, van stocks and associated equipment either directly to operatives on site or through a collection service. The appointment of a supplier will be for an initial period of 5 years, with the option to extend by a further 5 years period subject to performance and mutual agreement. Dudley MBC is seeking to appoint a single supplier for this contract and will therefore not split this contract into Lots. The Contracting Authority is tendering for a single merchant to deliver a managed stores solution for the provision of building materials to the Council. It is the expectation of the Council that the core service will be delivered through a dedicated standalone Stores, operated solely for the Council with estimated capacity floor space of 14 000 square meters to include yards and trades parking. Additional services the merchant may be required to provide through the managed stores solution may include: — Direct integration with ICT systems; — Dedicated stock holding; — Van stock management; — Provision of welfare facilities at existing branches/standalone stores for use by Trades staff; — Waste Management facilities and other ancillary services; — Factoring items from third party suppliers. Merchants providing a managed stores solution will be required to provide the full range of materials that maybe required by the Council from time to time including non commonly stocked items.
