Tender description

This contract is to supply of 1000 litres of Asulam for the control of invasive Bracken. (Please note is a goods only contract and application of the herbicide is not part of the contract.) Brettenham Heath is a National Nature Reserve. National Nature Reserves (NNRs) were established to protect some of our most important habitats, species and geology, and to provide ‘outdoor laboratories’ for research. There are currently 224 NNRs in England with a total area of over 94,400 hectares - approximately 0.7% of the country’s land surface. Brettenham Heath is an extensive area of acid grassland and heather heath and is a classic ‘Breckland’ Heath. This requirement will help control the invasive growth of Bracken (Pteridium aquilinum) on the NNR through the application of herbicide. The land is also designated as SSSI, is part of the Breckland SPA and Breckland SAC and this will help with 'favourable Conditon Status'
