Sefton Council is funding a provider to supervise contact in Runcorn whilst care preceedings are underway. We are looking for a provider who could supervise contact whilst parent assessments are underway within care proceedings. We would be looking for the contact to begin in Runcorn for 2 days a week from 26.06.17. Initially on a Monday and Tuesday between 12 and 2pm (with a view to be extended as time progresses). This contact would take place at Halton Lodge Children’s Centre. The initial contract would be for a minimum of 12 weeks The assessment during supervision will require the person supervising contact to observe and assess parents in regards to: • Handling, affection/warmth, changing and feeding. No concerns around basic care but it would be expected that these interactions would be observed and recorded; and advice and guidance offered. • Assessment of how mum is able to instigate the care for baby rather than allowing dad to constantly take the lead. • Dad to remain focussed on the baby rather than conversate with mum and staff about himself and court proceedings. • Ensuring safety • Age appropriate stimulation and conversation during contact.
