Tender description

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the “Council”)is one of the largest Metropolitan Councils in the country and covers a wide area including the towns of Bingley, Ilkley, Keighley and Shipley. This contract applies to funeral arrangements for:- • Bradford South Constituency • Bradford North Constituency • Bradford West Constituency • Shipley Constituency • Keighley Constituency The Council has an obligation to arrange funeral services under Section 46 Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, on behalf of people who are not willing or able themselves. Therefore the Council is seeking tender submissions from suitably qualified and experienced Funeral Directors. The Council normally arranges up to 70 funerals per year which can be either burials or cremations depending on the requests of the deceased and their families. This number is not guaranteed but is a genuine estimate of the Council’s requirements each year. The Council is looking for a sole Undertaker who could meet all our requirements. The timing of the funerals will be at the discretion of the Council and the successful provider will therefore need to be as flexible as possible. Keywords: Funeral
