NHS Arden & GEM CSU, on behalf of NHS England South (South West) seeks to commission a Child Health Information Service (CHIS) across the population of the South West of England. The aim of the CHIS is to ensure that each child in England has an active care record, supporting delivery of the clinical service: as a minimum, screening, immunisation and the healthy child programme services. It should enable the health promotion and failsafe activities for clinical delivery to be carried out in a timely way. These records must be held within a secure information system, which meets appropriate requirements for information governance and IT security for managing personally-identifiable data within the NHS, and must be supported by an adequately resourced team to record and manage the relevant data. NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU (AGCSU), on behalf of NHS England South (South West) (the Commissioner), is inviting suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for delivery of a Child Health Information Service (CHIS) in the South West. The Commissioner is seeking a single provider to deliver one CHIS with two distinct service delivery footprints — one serving the population of Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Somerset and one serving the population of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The development of strong stakeholder relationships within the two service delivery footprints is critical to the service. The annual contract value will be approximately £2.4 million (exclusive of VAT and CQUIN) over a term of 5 years. There will be a staggered service delivery start, with the service within the Devon LA area starting on 1.4.2018 and the remainder of the service (across both service delivery footprints) starting on 1.7.2018.
