Tender description
The Forestry Commission require to put in place a range of contracts for the provision of Excavator Ground Preparation/Cultivation for their South Scotland Operations Area (Dumfries and Borders Forest District, and Galloway Forest District (excluding Arran) and Central Scotland Operations Area (Cowal and Trossachs Forest District, Scottish Lowlands Forest District, and Tay Forest District). Ground preparation should commence in April and Suppliers are expected to deliver the requirements continuously and consistently throughout the Annum. The Ground Preparation contracts will be for a period of 3 years with the option of one further annual extension at the sole discretion of the Forestry Commission. Please note that site visits for all Lots are mandatory and MUST contact the local Forester and arrange a site meeting. The combined tender value of all 14 Lots has been estimated at between 5 200 000 GBP and 6 800 000 GBP excluding VAT over 4 years. Following harvesting operations it is necessary to cultivate the land to provide the best conditions for the successful establishment of replanted trees. In order to achieve this, the Forestry Commission require to put in place Ground Preparation (Mounding) Contracts for the provision of these services. In addition to Ground Preparation, there may be additional requirements specific to each site, including the clearing of existing drainage channels, the creation of new drains, temporary track construction, clearance of rides and the moving of trees on site. Following harvesting operations it is necessary to cultivate the land to provide the best conditions for the successful establishment of replanted trees. In order to achieve this, the Forestry Commission require to put in place Ground Preparation (Mounding) Contracts for the provision of these services. In addition to Ground Preparation, there may be additional requirements specific to each site, including the clearing of existing drainage channels, the creation of new drains, temporary track construction, clearance of rides and the moving of trees on site.
