Tender description

The works comprises the construction of a single storey extension of 254 m2 of additional accommodation with link to one of the existing school buildings. Accommodation to include Classroom, Science Room, Teaching Support Room, Office and Toilets is to be in accordance with Department of Education and Skills Room Layouts, and Technical Guidance Documents. The building is a solid load bearing wall structure with external blockwork cavity walls; in-situ RC columns and beams; internal fair faced blockwork partition walls, in- situ concrete ground floor slabs, prefabricated timber roof trusses with aluminium metal standing seam roof cladding; double glazed thermally broken aluminium windows, fitted furniture and finishes generally. Services will include for oil fired central heating system, hot and cold water distribution, gas distribution electrical services, mechanical ventilation, all linked to existing services and facilities. Services for the extension will be extended at high level in the suspended ceilings from the existing Boiler House and Electrical Mains switch board.
