STFC is a world-leading multi-disciplinary science organisation, whose goal is to deliver economic, societal, scientific and international benefits to the UK and its people - and more broadly to the world. ISIS is the world's brightest pulsed neutron and muon source and is situated at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (Oxfordshire, UK). It produces neutrons by firing a narrow, high-energy beam of protons at the Target. The neutrons are then slowed down by allowing them to deposit heat in the liquid hydrogen and solid methane moderators (both cryogenically cooled) and then extracted through holes in the reflector. This procurement is for Moderators, it is our intention to purchase up to a maximum of Qty 3 Decoupled Moderators and Qty 1 Coupled Moderator per year, over a total of 4 years.
