Tender description

To implement a replacement network across the Birmingham Airport campus to an existing design and supply the required equipment. The scope of the project is current network elements including physical equipment and logical elements such as protocols, languages, network management tools, etc. The aims of the Project are: — A more resilient network. — Replace end of life equipment. — More flexible network and ability to be easily expanded to accommodate future development needs of the Airport, providing a minimum day-1 spare capacity of 25 %. — More Secure network. — Reduced unused network socket connectivity. The Airport's requirement encompasses the following: — Supply of Cisco Network Hardware. — Installation Services. — Install replacement data network equipment responsible for processing of critical operational systems. — Sustainable decommissioning of ‘end of life’ data network equipment. — Network Configuration Services. — Testing Services. — Documentation Services. — Quality Management. — Implementation Records. — Support Documentation. — Technical Process Design and Training. — Liaison with Third Party Organisations appointed by the Airport to support the delivery of the project. — Project Management. — Quality Assurance. — Technical Design Authority. The current network comprises of 61 communications rooms, including dual resilient cores. Approximately 7 000 copper network ports are currently deployed.
