Crawley Borough Council - Ridleys Court Works (Worth Park)

Tender description

Crawley Borough Council is inviting pre-qualification applications regarding the conservation of Worth Park which principally dates back to the 19th Century. The Council wishes to appoint a specialist contractor to carry out the following works: 1) Part conversion of a Grade II listed stable building to community facilities including education space / interpretation room, 2 person office, plant, storage and public toilets, related services and external works. 2) Remedial works to parts of the exterior of the building with specialist historic joinery and specialist stonework with contractor design input on these elements. 3) Specialist removal of asbestos from selected areas, with residents living above 4) Waterproofing and specialist repair to existing stable floorings. Particular issues to this project include careful site logistics as there are residents living above the site and disturbance therefore should be kept to a minimum. There will be an interface with the wider landscape construction works which will be running concurrently under a different contract. Contractors wishing to express an interest must be able to demonstrate experience of working with listed buildings, in light of the issues mentioned above.
