Tender description

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to participate in a market consultant exercise to support the procurement strategy for the diversion of high risk utilities in the area of Bernard Street/Baltic Street/ Constitution St Edinburgh. The works are one of a number of enabling works packages to support the extension of the Edinburgh Tram route from York Place to Newhaven. Contractors are invited to review and respond to the market consultation questionnaire no later than 12 noon on 21.7.2017 by email to kelly.faulds@edinburgh.gov.uk. The City of Edinburgh Council will shortly be inviting contractors experienced in the construction of light railways, and the supply of light rail systems to participate in market research for the extension to the existing Edinburgh Tram line. The design and build contract is expected to be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union later in 2017, subject to all necessary approvals. This market consultation exercise is an exciting opportunity for contractors to participate in finalising the Council's procurement strategy and gain insight into the proposed contract strategy. Noting interest is required for the purposes of participating in the market research only.
