Consult users to ascertain needs and to ensure that facilities meet requirements. Evaluate the functionality of systems. Selecting and purchasing appropriate hardware and software. Ensure software licensing laws are followed. Implement and manage security or integrity and backup procedures. Design and Implement maintenance procedures. Plan, develop and implement ICT budget to ensure cost effectiveness. Guarantee the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus and software patching. Secure data from internal and external attack. Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems. Offering users appropriate support and advice. Where the Work Takes Place ISS, Building 405, Spur D2, Westwells Road, MOD Corsham, SN13 9NR Early Market Engagement N/A Working Arrangements Individuals are to manage their delivery of tasks. As Design Management are only available to receive or review products during the core working week (37 hours per week) within a bandwidth of 08:00 - 17:00, individuals are to be available during that period. All tasking deliverables are to be delivered to MoD Corsham (On-Site). If 'OFF-SITE' working is required expenses will require Line management approval and up to a limit of £5k for the term of the contract. All resources will be provided On-Site, inc access to MoD’s IT systems. No utilisation of personal or company laptops will be permitted. Work Location ISS, Building 405, Spur D2, Westwells Road, MOD Corsham, SN13 9NR Security Clearance Individuals will be required to hold a minimum of 'DV' clearance. DV Clearance must be in place prior to the contract starting. DV status must be valid for the duration of the contract. BPSS or Disclosure Scotland is not acceptable and the Authority will NOT sponsor DV Clearance. Skills & Experience Hold a recognised computer or network qualification at NVQ Level 4 or above- 10% 5+ years’ experience in Network management- 10% 5+ Years’ experience in network installation and administration- 6% Experience Managing ICT Projects- 6% Experience in Documenting Processes & Procedures- 4% Technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems in particular for managing and configuring LANs, WANs, VLANs, VPNs, etc- 4% Experience of configuring computer hardware and software- 4% Experience with Backup and recovery software and procedures- 4% Experience in Microsoft and Linux Servers including System Centre and Server 2012- 4% Nice to Haves Professional Accreditation- 4% Recognised Project Management Qualification- 4% ITIL Foundation- 4% Experience of working in a military or government environment- 4% Familiarity with Atlassian Toolset- 4% Understand data protection requirements- 4% Understand Health and Safety and welfare regulations and best practice affecting ICT- 4% Good Communication and inter-personal skills- 4% Good Organizational skills- 4% Basic familiarity with managing iOS systems- 4% Ability to handle a complex delivery landscape - multiple suppliers, multiple stakeholders- 4% Experience in providing engineering leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in large public or private sector organisations- 4% No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
