Grosvenor Road CP - Junior Building Heating Distribution Replacement

Grosvenor Road CP school is at the end of Parkgate Drive, Swinton, M27 5LN. The site consists of two main single storey buildings with an interlinking corridor. The buildings are home to the infants/reception calluses and to the junior pupils. Each of these two buildings is independently heated. The infant’s boilers plant serves the kitchen and dining room as well as their classrooms. The junior’s plant serves teaching and admin space alone. There is also a relatively new teaching block, built in 2015. The heating system is LPHW with steel pipes in preformed floor ducts, as well as being routed at various levels above ground. Pipes at low level are severely corroded, but due to the presence of asbestos in the floor ducts along with the age of the system, the heating distribution is to be replaced. There will be the requirement for minor pipe and control modifications in the basement boiler room. Due to the nature of this work and the time constraints the programme may require that out of hours and weekend working is needed in order to complete on schedule. Keywords: heating, distribution
