Tender description

Belfast Harbour Commissioners (BHC) has a requirement for the supply of electricity to the Meter Point Reference Numbers (MPRNs) located throughout the Belfast Harbour Estate from time to time. In order to satisfy the pre-qualification requirements of this tender process and be shortlisted for tender stage, bidders must, as at the date specified for return of the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, hold a licence to supply electricity under the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992. BHC currently purchases circa 16 million kWh per annum at 33 kV, 11 kV, 6.6 kV, 415 kV. BHC's current supply contract will end on 30.9.2017. BHC is now inviting tenders for the supply of electricity to the MPRNs located throughout the Belfast Harbour Estate from time to time. The intention is that, subject to successful conclusion of this tender process, the new contract will start on 1.10.2017 and (subject to any earlier termination in accordance with the terms thereof) continue until 30.9.2019. Estimated value per annum is in the region of 1 500 000 GBP — 2 000 000 GBP. The total potential value of the contract is therefore between 3 000 000 GBP — 4 000 000 GBP. BHC does not however provide any commitment, guarantee or otherwise warrant that it will purchase any minimum level of kWh in any year, or that its purchases will be made at any minimum level of kWh. BHC reserves the right to adjust its purchasing requirements and/or the number of MPRNs based on operational and customer requirements during the term of the contract.
